Welcome to Our New Site
As high temperature insulation specialists, we want to make it easy for our customers to access our products and our services. That’s why we’ve launched this new website. We know that you’re all busy people, and when you need something, you want to get to the point quickly and clearly. At the same time, because we offer a wide range of industrial insulation solutions, we know how important it is to let visitors to our site access all the options available to them, and understand the benefits of our product range.
By way of an introduction to the new Elmelin site, this is a summary and an explanation. But most of all, it’s an invitation to discover more about us and explore what we can offer you.
At Home with Mica
Mica roll laminates have got a new home. Some of you may already know about mica’s unique insulating properties, but we thought it was a good idea to explain briefly its benefits on our home page. Mica is a natural mineral with physical properties that make it ideally suited for a whole range of high temperature insulation applications. Its sheer versatility means we can offer our customers strategically devised insulation solutions across a broad spectrum of industries and sectors.
Mica is supremely adaptable, to the point where it feels like a well-kept secret that underpins so much industrial and commercial activity. If it is a secret, however, we’re here to make it an open one.
You’ll find mica in power cables, blast furnaces, aluminium smelters and furnace wiring. It provides vital insulation for commonplace items such as heat guns. And you’ll also find it in fire and security alarm systems, surveillance systems, and in boilers and heaters.
What we offer, and what we want our new website to do, is find solutions to problems and supply the means to refine and improve processes. We’ve brought together the products we make and supply and the industries we serve, to make it easy for you to find what you need from us.
High Temperature Insulation Products
You’ll find lots of useful information about our products on our new website. Performance is key. In many industries, and across a variety of operations, high temperature insulation is critical. Specialising in thermal management and insulation, we support a diversity of businesses.
Some, such as furnaces, will have specific requirements for mica roll and mica laminates to extend the lifespan of insulation linings. We also specialise in furnace safety systems, based on mica-based materials. These act as early warning sensors and protective barriers to prevent furnace damage.
Mica sheets, from muscovite and phlogopite mica minerals, can be either rigid or flexible, and combine excellent insulation properties with electrical and chemical resistance. Their applications range from furnace construction and lining to domestic appliances.
In fact, mica has capabilities that make it best placed for multiple manufacturing solutions. Therefore, if you’re involved in a project designing and manufacturing an appliance, whether domestic, commercial or industrial, mica may just be the missing piece in the puzzle to turn your vision into a practical, production-line reality.
Who We Help, Supply and Support
Versatility is a key element in what we offer. What this adds up to is that there are certain industries that are a natural fit for what we produce, but we keep expanding our frontiers.
The industries section of the new Elmelin site gives an overview of who we help, supply and support, to make it easier for prospective and established customers to discover more about their own areas of interest
We have strong links to the foundry and steel industry, supplying high performance insulation products and specialist support in thermal management. Beyond mica solutions, we also apply microporous insulation technology to help this sector bring down costs and boost its productivity.
There’s widespread use of thermal and electrical barriers in both the automotive and aerospace industries, which is where we come in. A key mica application is in insulation for flight recorders – and for other data recording devices for use by the military and by transportation businesses.
Manufacturers will find useful information about how mica provides high temperature insulation solutions in tooling, consumer appliances and continuous process manufacturing for petrochemical, cement and glass production.
We also provide essential support for health and safety with various fire protection applications, offering a significant, evolutionary leap forward from asbestos-based solutions with combined mica and microporous insulation products.
If you don’t find an exact match to your sector, don’t worry – we can find the right fit for you when it comes to high temperature insulation.
Our Capabilities are Crucial
We’re not simply an off-the-shelf supplier. On the Elmelin website, you can find out about our capabilities as manufacturers and thermal management specialists. Expert prototyping is another essential service we offer.
In manufacturing, we’re ISO9001: 2015 accredited, combining years of solid experience with state-of-the-art innovation and creativity. Complete confidence in our workforce gives us the flexibility we need to meet the requirements of a broad range of clients.
It’s not just about the products, however. For thermal management solutions, we act in response to specific customer concerns and issues, providing the answers they need. These can be a combination of bespoke and off-the-shelf products, based on thermal profiles built through testing and simulation.
To ensure the maximum performance and optimum outcome of industrial insulation projects, we have a rigorous prototyping capability. Looking at both problem-solving and production, we test design functionality, and performance prior to roll out. Prototyping can be the key to a successful manufacturing strategy, ensuring you get the results you’re looking for.
