Thoughts from Cenex-LCV 2021

Thoughts from Cenex-LCV 2021

A few weeks ago, we attended the Cenex LCV 2021 exhibition at the UTAC Millbrook Proving Ground in Bedford. The exhibition was the first live event we have attended since 2019 – and we were very glad to be back!

Cenex-LCV is a 2 day exhibition run by Cenex, the UK’s first centre for excellence for low carbon and fuel cell technologies. The event consists of an exhibition hall, extensive seminar programme and facilitated networking, giving attendees the opportunity to discover and learn about the latest innovations in low carbon vehicle technologies.

Elmelin have been investing in our capabilities and advancing in this space since 2016, developing solutions such as insulation for automotive battery packs and Compression Pads Plus, which uses mechanical pressure to further protect and extend the battery life of the pack.

Cenex-LCV was a great opportunity for us to demonstrate our capabilities, showcase our solutions and also learn about arising challenges in the sector.

Key takeaways from the event and areas of interest for us were:

  • Finding out more about the work of the UK Battery Industrialisation Centre, recently opened in Coventry, part of the Government programme to fast track the development of high-performance, durable, safe and lightweight batteries
  • The number of UK battery pack solution providers and the range of solutions available
  • The advances in LCV technology for vehicles such as buses, military vehicles, etc
  • Re-engineering classic vehicles to be powered by battery

We’d like to say thank you to anyone who came along to see us. It really was fantastic to be able to see our customers and potential customers face-to-face. We were pleasantly overwhelmed by the amount of traffic to our stand on day one and the quality of the opportunities on day 2, and look forward to building on the connections we were able to make at the show.
